Okay… this is a recent comic I did. I was really uncertain about doing this one as I really wasn’t sure if it was funny or I was just being really immature. I tend to keep my comics kinda clean, so this one was a little more risque than usual, but I just couldn’t stop giggling while I was thinking about it so I had to draw it… and here it is.
It might not be funny to anyone else, possibly even just kinda dumb and offensive, but I had to see it through to the end. It really does sound like something from an Adult Swim cartoon: Some character programs a robot to tool about town and make lewd suggestions to women who are just trying to enjoy their day without a mechanical molester wheeling up to them and making sexual suggestions which couldn’t possibly be obliged due to a lack of equipment.
Wow, I’m still tittering to myself about this. I guess I always did have my immature streak.
So, is it funny? Is it just purile and void of any real humor? Is it an expression of modern male angst? That all men today feel like robots programmed by pranksters to be offensive and emotionless, striving for some kind of sexual satisfaction that can never be gratified?
I should get some sleep and see if it’s still funny in the morning… I probably should of done that before posting it.

I laughed, mostly at the ridiculous nature of the panel.

I think its because the robot actually says “I am a robot” before saying “jerk me off” that makes it funny. As if the former qualifies the latter.
That and the innocent look of the robot and the look of shock on the women is priceless.

Yeah, I slept on it, and it still makes me giggle. I guess it must actually be funny then. [:coffee:][:duck:]

Yeah, gonna agree with Essex. The fact that he prefaces his desire to be jerked off with a blanket message about his status as a robot is the funniest part.

Yeah, if he just said “jerk me off” it wouldn’t really work.
I think the idea is that the robot was just programmed to wheel up to random women and spout a stock message, so the robot really has no understanding of what he is saying.
It might work really well as part of a web cartoon, like there would be a guy who’s chronically unemployed and someone asks him, “Hey, what happened to that internship you had at the robotics lab?”.
And then there would be a quick cut scene to the robot rolling up to the girls and relaying his message, then cutting back to the unemployed guy who says, “Yeah, you know, those stuffy lab scientists had no sense of humor AT ALL…” [:coffee:]:)

And just the same if he said “Jerk me off I am a robot” it wouldn’t of been as funny either.
The cartoon idea is funny as well.

Okay, it finally stopped being funny to me. Now it does seem kinda pointless and dumb…
No… wait… I just giggled again. It’s still funny to me. [:coffee:]:)
It may indeed be male humor, like The Three Stooges and Benny Hill.

I am a girl, and I think it is funny for the reasons stated by RØB and Essex. [:scgirl:]
