God looked upon the Earth and said, “Let it be f#@king cold”,
And it Was.
Then the people came out of their houses and saw what God had done,
And they looked up and said unto the heavens, “God, it’s f#@king cold!”

I got power back yesterday around 7PM but no cable or internet. Overall I was pretty happy, now able to walk about my house in a t-shirt and not my Swiss Army jacket; who needs TV anyway? I watched some DVDs and got some nice warm sleep with my electric blanket.

Then I lost power again at 3PM today, the cable and internet never returning. So now I am back at my parents’ house using their power and internet again. I suppose I could give the St. Louis Geek Refugee Camp Company a visit again, but I can only eat so many chocolate chip muffies (yes, they are called muffies…), and they only serve the bacon and spinach souffles I like in the morning, which I like to pronouce “soo-fool” just to see if anyone knows I am pronouncing it wrong.

BTW, in case you were wondering about how bad this winter storm hit, take a look at this map of AmerenIP’s map of outages:

Over half a million people lost power during this storm, I was half expecting Anderson Cooper to show up, like he does for any disaster:
