Bought Some “Wife Beaters” Today…

5 Dec 2006 In: Random Fun

BTW, even though it doesn’t look like it, my pants are still completely on in these pictures. My pants are just loose and bunched up; I’m not actually using the facilities.

Plus I bought some boxer-briefs, which upon closer inspection came in a RESEALABLE BAG!!!

Dude, why on earth would underwear come in a resealable bag?

Restaurant Name

1 Nov 2006 In: Random Fun

I just thought of a great name for a restaurant:

Double Meaty Bone

“Where do you want to go out to eat today, kids?”
“DOUBLE MEATY BONE!!!”

“You thinkin’ what I’m thinking?”
“Yeah man, Double Meaty Bone”
“We’re goin’!”

“He proposed to me at the Double Meaty Bone, on trivia night!”

Well… it’ll probably not be as funny in the morning…

Ahhh…. The French!

This is a clip of the late Orson Wells trying to do a wine commercial while severely tanked. Definetely worth a watch, also could be great for sound sampling if you do techno remixes and the like.

What Makes Us Human

6 Sep 2006 In: Random Fun

I assume this is meant to be some sort of joke, but here is a list of the genes that seperate us from or lower primate ancestors:

“Scientists have identified perhaps the most crucial genetic region that makes us human. By comparing human DNA with that of chimpanzees and other animals they have found the region of the genome subjected to the strongest natural selection since we shared a common ancestor with chimps. … This region differs by just two changes between chimps and chickens, which shared a common ancestor around 310 million years ago. But since humans and chimps split 5 million years ago there have been 18 changes.”

Getting Back Into Gaming

13 Jul 2006 In: Random Fun

I’ve decided to get back into game programming when I can, so here is a quick game I wrote in flash called Zenji. The idea of the game is to keep the wandering yinyang circle from touching the flame border. You do this by warding the circle away with your mouse cursor. As time goes on the yinyang gets more and more edgy and hard to control, but the number of points you get per tick increase.

Now, this may sound weird, but I was thinking of making a Gadget Hackwrench game. I had no idea how much of a fan base there was for the character until I took a tour on the Gadget Hackwrench Webring. People have even taken their free time and made whole fan novels and comic books dedicated to her, some of them more savory than others.

Well… after getting a few nasty emails from some people who really feel strongly about how Gadget should be represented I think that might not be a good idea. I might make the game a with Florence from Free Fall instead. I mean, she was originally created for Yarf!, a furry fandom site, and then the comic was created around her.

Either character, the idea was to have some kind of cute furry female protagonist who fights enemies but can also pick up bits and pieces of things and make things like new weapons, climb walls, fly, etc… It’d be a huge project, but something that could be really fun to work on an hour a day to lighten things up. The main focus of the game would be some kind of “snap n click” device creation system.

In other words, you’d have one window in the upper side of the screen that listed parts in your inventory and then have a “workshop” window where you could drag and drop bits and pieces to create items on the fly. Perhaps have puzzles that require that Gadget/Florence/whatever create something new. New areas of the game would allow different components, making for different things the character can make.

Well… perhaps I should just make a Mahjong game next.

Samual Adams, Always a Wise Choice

26 Apr 2006 In: Random Fun

I like Samual Adams beer, especially the Octoberfest brew which only comes out in fall. I often get a nice and happy feeling while drinking it and it just tastes great. I always figured that the nice feeling I got from drinking Sam Adams was from just from getting a little tipsy and the asthetic pleasure of the flavor, but is there some kind of real chemical reason for a nice Sam Adams brew cheering me up?

There is a Yahoo! group dedicated to finding out if Sam Adams actually has anti-depressant properties. Could it be the unfiltered wheat? Join the group to help find out:

Men are notorious for having no fashion sense. I myself have sort of an anti-fashion sense, but when I want to try to look nice I often find I have no clue where to start.

Perhaps I need to follow Kevin’s example and make a website where people could vote to decide what I should where and when:

Wrap Rage

28 Mar 2006 In: Random Fun

Ever come back home with a new CD or DVD and then end up destroying the jewel case and/or disc in the process of opening it? It’s happened to me quite a bit, and now not just with music and movies, but it seems lately anything you buy in the store comes in a thick plastic casing that seems to have no normal method of opening beside cutting with a knife or sissors.

It’s only a matter of time until someone hurts him or herself, and such has happened.

The term is Wrap Rage and in England it is become the bane of the elderly and people are actually becoming injured in attempts to get at their purchase. Most likely Americans are getting hurt as well, being our large portion of aging baby boomers and our generally toasted youngsters and their love for gadgets and media.

Pet Washing Machine

20 Feb 2006 In: Random Fun

Ever try to bathe a cat or dog? Some of them like the experience, but most small, furry critters do not enjoy being doused with water and scrubbed with soaps and conditioners and will fight for their freedom, tooth and nail.

Why not just through your lovable balls of fluff into a washing machine, one specifically made for small mammals? Introducing a new machine from Lavakan which will take in your filthy animals, soap them up, spray them down, and dry them in under 20 minutes.

I wonder if they make a version for children?
