The whole thing about Lucifer creating worlds from within a dark void reminds me of the Sandman series of comics.
To make a long story short, he ends up escaping Hell and eventually escapes God’s universes to create universes of his own in the void. He creates new galaxies and worlds and then invites anyone from God’s realms to live in his, but only if they promise never to worship anyone or anything, including Lucifer himself.

I think Russ once posted that as his own favorite scene from that movie.

The same clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqi5F5MqqTQ appears to have over a million views, in fact.

Supposedly this was the scene that got it banned from showing on television for a while.

I’ve failed to watch it all the way through because I kinda want to see it in its original context.
