When I saw pink posters with pictures of kittens with skulls and crossbones plastered on the walls of Cummel’s Cafe I just had to ask what it was all about. I asked Peggy and she said it was a Japanese girl band that all dress in schoolgirl outfits. I was of course intrigued further, but I went to the website for the band and I got the funny feeling there might not be any japanese schoolgirls at Cummel’s come this Friday. Still, it looks like a cool band, appearantly some kind of synthesizer rock group, and I’ll still go to check it out. I even posted an add for the concert on the top.

Yeah, it looks more like a Catholic School girl look…
It’s not the asian hotness that would be expected from a Japanese girl band in uniforms.
Still hot, just not as hot. LOL

Well… I think Peggy said Catholic School girls and I heard Japanese School girls. Funny how we all hear what we want to hear, eh?

You know…Catholic, Japanese, they still cater to a similar fantasy…schoolgirls.
I find this fascination among men interesting. The ‘girls in uniform’ stereotype crosses through different societies. As much as I believe the American culture is repressed when it comes to sexuality, I believe the Japanese culture is much more repressed; yet we have a very similar fascination with girls in uniform.
Why school girls?
What is the attraction?

Well, I think the skirt and socks have something to do with it. If the Catholic and Japanese school girls all wore slacks and sandles I don’t think there would be such a facination.
Though the issue of both of those cultures, Japanese and Catholic, being repressive and overbearing on individuals’ personal lives may have something to do with the fetishes based around the female youth of those cultures. The greater the control and guilt built into one’s life over sexuality and wild behavior the greater the ferver and excitment one would engage in those activities and thoughts.
A dirty film or strip tease is far more exciting when viewed through the gaps between one’s fingers while covering one’s eyes in shock.
The idea is that when these innocent school girls rebel they rebel harder and more wildly than a person who has more freedom and rights to self expression would because it is less common to them, so it is something to truly go after with ferver.
Of course, in reality the school girl attraction has probably more to do with age play or some form of roleplaying than anything else.

Good point. I suppose I just don’t get fetishes in general.

Very interesting Charles. Cruc has made a good point as well the American culture is sexually repressed. Europeans view nudity completly different than Americans. It’s nothing to see nudity in something as simple as a butter commercial during prime time in some countries and I think you know as well as I that it will be some time here in the USA that we will see nudity during prime time. I’ve been on beaches in other countries where mom and dad and the kids are all naked and they think nothing of it. Now I can’t imagine being on vacation with my parents and taking my top off at the beach but then if I had been doing it since I was a little girl maybe I too would think nothing of it. It’s funny I have a plaid skirt that is short and I wear it with black leather boots in the fall/winter and I have had men tell me they like my skirt I wonder if it’s the school girl fetish fantasy?? Thing that make you go Hmmmmmm
Charles you’ve had more comments on this topic then any other Hmmmmmmm

I have yet to visit Europe. I’ve heard similar ideas (like the ones mentioned by Ms. Julia) about nudity in Europe. My parents traveled overseas (in the 1970s mind you) and noticed that Europeans appeared more comfortable with their bodies. My mother believed since they were more secure in their bodies they were in turn more comfortable in their way of life…it made a very strong impression on my mother who is from KY.
I think Charles might be gaining popularity with people in St. Louis…and those odd fetish lovers…LOL
