4Dec2006 Filed under: Electronics & Gaming Author: Charles GuthrieHere’s a clip of an old employer and friend of mine giving a lecture on MSNBC about search engines. It’s none other than the illustrious Stephanie Leffler, co-founder of Monster Commerce and now Senior VP at Network Solutions.
I really do miss the Stephy; she really is a special person. I joined Monster Commerce in 2002 and was their second employee. Back then the company was contained to just corner of a building and had around 500 clients, now they have over 5000 and make millions daily.
I eventually left MC in late 2004 to start my own company, but one of the things I miss the most about working at MC was working with Steph and her never ending energy and optimism.
She still owes me a lunch date though, about two years overdue. With interest that comes to two lunches and coffee-break.

Well I already have my allotted guest coming, but Galbatron isn’t bringing anyone so far.. you should hint at him today since RSVPs are due soon. I told him to invite you but for some reason he thinks I’m joking. [:scgirl:]

Hehe, perhaps he thinks its a joke becuase I can probably just show up with no problems. Last year Admiral Nelson invited me and I gave the Stephy a quick call to make sure it was okay I came. They even added me to the list of honored ghosts of Monster Commerce past, which was very nice of them to do.
I guess the main reason I am saying I’ll come if someone invites me is because now that the company is Network Solutions I am to some degree a symbol of the far past. I’ve never been an employee of Network Solutions, so in a way I’d just be some dude showing up uninvited.
Still, I know there would be people there who would like to see me come, so I probably should try to get listed as someone’s formal guest and such. It is possible that Drew is not inviting anyone so perhaps I should be his guest… then again I don’t know if he is coming or not.

Gotcha. I just thought it would be fun to have you there, no worries if you can’t or don’t want to make it though
