The former hotlink image we used was rude and questioned the webmaster's virtuousness, so adding little banners is a step up from what you would have gotten :) Most people still link to a place they found something even if they copy the image to their own site, as a courtesy (as I did at KKC); I had to add those automatic 'kitschy kitschy coo' banners because too many hotlinkers don't bother doing any of it. But, well, it's your blog, you do whatever you want, and we'll keep doing what we do.
