When I was younger I had a rather unhealthy obsession with Bjork, the Icelandic singing sensation well known for being completely bonkers. I eventually grew out of that, though I still put her second album “Post” on play to feel a bit of giddy nostalgia now and then.

My latest fascination is with Commedians of Comedy group member Maria Bamford. She usually talks in a squeaky, little girl gone insane voice that may or may not be her real voice (much like Bjork). She does a lot of different voices and many of them sound a bit more “normal” than the way she usually speaks.

Her humor ranges from talking about her problems with relationships, how much she hates work and her day job, politics, religion, the weirdness of her family, and a lot of random silliness (like her rendition of Old McDonald’s Farm which includes Pterodactyls).

I would post some of her comedy here, but I try not to pirate whenever possible. You can hear her through MusicMatch and iTunes, or just buy her album.
